
2026 Maastricht University Scholarship in the Netherlands | Fully Funded
The Maastricht University Scholarship for International Students is a fully funded program offered to highly talented students from outside the European Union (EU) who have been admitted to a master’s program at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Here’s what you need to know:
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam
- Meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands
- Do not hold a double nationality from an EU/EEA country
- Applied for admission to a participating full-time master’s program at Maastricht University for the 2026-2027 academic year
- Meet the specific admission requirements of the UM master’s program
- Never participated in a degree-seeking higher education program in the Netherlands (exchange programs are allowed)
- Not older than 35 years of age on September 1, 2027
Benefits:
- Full tuition fee waiver
- Monthly stipend (€1,225 for 13 months or €30,625 for 25 months)
- Health and liability insurance (€700)
- Visa application costs (€210)

Required Documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (up to 2 A4 pages)
- Letter of motivation (using the provided template)
- Proof of academic excellence (university transcript or letter from Head of Department/Registrar)
- Personal statement of financial needs
- Reference letter (with contact details of the referee)
Application Process:
- Register for a participating master’s program at Maastricht University via Studielink.
- Submit the required documents and complete the scholarship application form using your student ID number.
