Fun seekers in FCT
In continuation of the Eid-el-Kabir, some fun-seekers in Abuja on Sunday prayed for the country while catching fun at the various recreation parks.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hajara Mohammed, a resident, and her daughter, Aisha offered prayers for the country at the Millennium Park in Maitama.
Mohammed told NAN that joining others to catch fun at the park was good “but praying for the nation is very important part of the celebration.
“My son and I had just finished our prayers. We prayed for peace and unity of the country. We also prayed that the Almighty Allah give our President Muhammad Buhari the needed strength to carry on.
“We are happy to be alive and that is why we must pray regardless of where we are,” Mohammed said.
AnotherMuslim faithful, Malam Idris Salisu, a civil servant, who observed prayers alone near the bridge to the children play ground in the park said he was created by Allah.
He maintained that it is only prayers that could help the country have peaceful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir.
“Anywhere I am, I prayed, I never allowed anything to delay or stop me from saying my prayers.”
However, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel’s children play ground, few children were seen playing.
Malama Hadiza Abubakar, a resident who was there with her four children said the environment was friendly and peaceful.
“There are not many people here. I normally don’t like noise, that’s why I am here with my children to have a quiet time.
“We like it here and you can see the children in the swing and other facilities enjoying themselves. We thank Allah for everything.
“However, we pray for peace and unity in the country,” Abubakar said.
NAN at Magic Land near the city gate observed some faithful offering prayers by the corner.
Malam Abdullahi Adamu who was among those that prayed told NAN that “we don’t play with prayers. It is very important.
“Even in catching fun here, we know the need and benefits of prayer. We will always offer prayer no matter where we are.
“He is our creator, he is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving,” Adamu said.(NAN)
