
2026 Hornby Trust Scholarship at the University of Exeter, UK | Fully Funded
The University of Exeter Hornby Trust Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for English language teachers and professionals from low- and middle-income countries to pursue a Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Residency: Must be a resident of and work in a low- or middle-income country as defined by the OECD DAC list
- Experience: Minimum of three years’ full-time TESOL teaching or related professional experience
- Academic Qualifications: Undergraduate degree with grades equivalent to UK upper 2nd class honours or higher, or a relevant postgraduate degree
Benefits:

- Stipend: At least £15,500 for accommodation and living expenses

Application Process:
- Apply for admission to the University of Exeter’s MEd TESOL programme
- Receive an Exeter student number
- Complete the Hornby Scholarship application form
- Submit application by February 9, 2026
Selection Process:
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified by March 6, 2026
- Interviews will be held between March 16-25, 2026
- Final outcome will be notified by April 2, 2026
