2026 University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation DrPH Scholarships | Fully Funded for African Students
The University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation Doctor of Public Health Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for African students to pursue a PhD in Public Health at the University of Toronto. Here’s what you need to know:
Eligibility Requirements:
– Be a citizen and resident of a Sub-Saharan African country
– Graduated from an Africa Health Collaborative partner institution and not yet started doctoral-level studies
– Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership qualities in undergraduate and master’s studies
– Meet the academic admission requirements of the Doctor of Public Health program
– Commit to returning home for at least the final two years of the program to contribute to Africa’s development
Scholarship Benefits:

– Orientation sessions for a smooth transition to graduate studies
Application Process:
1. Review Admission Requirements: Check the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program requirements
2. Attend an Information Session: Register for and attend one of the three virtual info sessions (mandatory)
– Info Session 1: September 3, 2025 (10-11 am EST)
– Info Session 2: September 11, 2025 (8-9:30 am EST)
– Info Session 3: September 25, 2025 (9-10:30 am EST)
3. Submit Scholarship Application: Complete the Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Scholarship application by October 10, 2025 (11:59 pm EST)
4. Apply to the Doctor of Public Health Program: If shortlisted, submit a program application by November 22, 2025
