CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Introduction

The aim of the conference is to understand how Sub-Saharan African countries have been managing the post pandemic era and their economic growth recovery plan. The focus is to mainstream managing the post pandemic era into economic growth and development policies in Sub-Saharan African countries. It is our expectation that the outcomes of the conference would help to shape policy making in Africa.

Abstracts submission are invited for the 2nd Virtual International Conference of the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Academics, researchers, civil society organizations, practitioners and postgraduate students are all encouraged to submit policy-relevant papers for inclusion in any of the sub-themes of the conference.

  • Agriculture, food security and export diversification post pandemic
  • Law enforcement and migration in the post pandemic era
  • Financial innovations and financial sector development post pandemic
  • Climate change and the environment post pandemic
  • Tourism, sports and hospitality management post pandemic
  • SME development in the post pandemic era
  • Supply chain management in the post pandemic era
  • Social safety nets in the post pandemic era
  • Public expenditure management in the post pandemic era
  • Religious/cultural beliefs and economic development post pandemic
  • Gender, inequality, poverty and social inclusion post pandemic

Abstract Submission Guideline

  1. Abstracts should be in MS Word and not be more than 400 words in length, in Times New Roman, font 12, and double line spacing.
  2. It should include: title of paper, names of author(s) and their affiliations, background/motivation for the study, objectives of the study/research questions, data (description, sources and period covered), method of analysis, expected results, key policy recommendations based on the results, and JEL classification codes.
  3. Corresponding author’s email address and phone number.
  4. All abstracts should be submitted to economicsunnconference@gmail.com on or before 6th February, 2023.

Note: All payments must be made to the bank and evidence of payment forwarded to economicsunnconference@gmail.com. There will be notification of acceptance for selected abstracts on rolling basis. Payment for conference fee or certificate by Presenters/Co-authors made on or after 9th February, 2023 will attract a late payment fee of additional N5,000.

  1. Abstract submission deadline: 31st January, 2023
  2. Emailing Zoom link to participants: 3rd February, 2023
  3. Late payment of conference fee begins: 9th February, 2023
  4. Issuance of conference certificates: Latest by 28th February, 2023
  5. Release of Book of Abstracts : Latest by 28th February, 2023

Publication of full papers in peer reviewed journal

At the end of the Conference, authors are encouraged to submit their full papers for publication in the Journal of Economics and Allied Research (JEAR). Dr Anthony Orji is a Ph.D holder in Economics and a lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria Nsukka.

He obtained his B.Sc, Msc and Ph.D Degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Local Economic Development (SLED) from Erasmus University, Rotterdam Netherlands.
