Breaking!!! UI, UNN, UNILORIN tops other Nigerian Universities based on quality of research and scientists

The University of Ibadan (UI), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have emerged as the best varsities in Nigeria based on the quality of scientists.

This was based on the AD Scientific Index ranking (https://www.adscientificindex.com/university-ranking/?country_code=ng)  According to the developers, The methodology was based on the principle of including only meritorious scientists. Based on Google Scholar’s total h-index scores, they have listed all academicians, who are ranked in the world in the top 10,000 and top 100,000 in university rankings. Furthermore, they have listed the breakdown of this ranking by main subjects. As the order of ranking principles, they used the overall top 10,000 scientists list primarily. Secondly, they used the ranking in the top 100,000 scientists list. Thirdly, the total number of scientists in the AD Scientific Index was ranked by the university. In the case of equalities within a university ranking, they used the highest rank of the scientist in the respective university as it is listed in the world ranking.

AD Scientific Index said the ranking “reveals the competency of institutions to attract prized scientists and the ability of institutions to encourage advances and retain scientists.”

Harvard University made the top spot on the list globally while the University of Cape Town was ranked the best institution in Africa.
