MY TALENTS AND SKILLS AND HOW IT WILL ALLEVIATE ME FROM POVERTY

Over the years, I have come to realize what I am actually good at. And they are under listed below:
    1. Child care
    2. Playing football

    CHILD CARE
Since when I cannot remember, I have come to find out myself to be very fond of children and also very good at taking good care of them in such a way that the children would not even notice the absence of their parents and their parents would not be bothered as to the wellbeing of their child because they know the child is well taken care of by me. This started up when I was still very much little, I came to realize that I love being around children and not only do I love being around them, they also love being around me. Whenever they came to be, they usually do not see any reason to go back to their parents. This went on and on until I came to a conclusion that it was a talent and not just a talent but my talent. Children usually come to me whenever they cry and suddenly they are laughing and playing around again to the extent that they usually do not like going back to their parents. This even led to one of our relatives deeming me fit to serve as one of her children’s godmother. So over the years, I have grown to love children and vice versa. I am not yet a mother but I serve as mothers to many kids out there.
This talent can be developed to the extent of it yielding income for me in the next 5-10 years by establishing a child care centre. I can start out small probably by using a single room in my father’s house then if there is turn up, we will progress to a rented apartment. With time if the number of children increases we can get a better place and a much more permanent settlement to train the children. The centre will be involved in inculcating new and good moral values into the children and extricating bad behaviours. I believe due to the fact that child loves and listens to me, they will obey me and if one parent gives a positive commendation about my centre, more parents will bring their children which will eventually lead to me opening a school for children.

    FOOTBALL
I loved the game of football right from when I was still very much little. Any time I see a group of children usually boys playing the game of football, I am usually envious of them. My request to join them is usually constants declined owing to the fact that I am a girl. After so many denials, I was opportune to visit my mum’s village one weekend like that, fortunately for me, I met a group of boys and girls playing football, I requested to join them and my request was granted. I was overjoyed when they agreed could join them to make up for their shortage in player. I quickly ran inside and put on my playing boot and rushed out to join them. I was very happy because it was my first time to play a real football with real opponents. After that day, during weekends I usually visit my mum’s village to join them in training. This went on and on until I entered secondary school. I joined the female football team and further developed my skill. When I gained admission into the higher institution, it was not difficult for me to adapt. Before long, I was nominated to join the faculty team that would participate in Ozumba’s cup and after the tournament I came back with a gold medallion of honour. I also participated in my faculty’s inter-departmental football tournament of which I also came back with a gold medallion as well. Over the years, I have grown to love the football game and I have also grown to be good at it both at the goal post and in the field of play.
This skill can generate income for me in the sense that if I engage in rigorous football training, it will get to a point that I can use my skills and experience that I have gathered in both faculty and departmental football matches to make way for me to the national level. I strongly believe that the skill will yield income for me within 5-10years if I relentlessly work towards it.

MY TALENT AND SKILLS AND HOW IT WILL GENERATE WEALTH FOR ME IN THE NEAREST FUTURE

    TEACHING
Teaching in a simple term is the act and art of impacting knowledge. There is this popular saying that goes like this “teachers are born not made”. I believe I was born a teacher. Being a teacher does not necessarily mean going to school and studying education, graduate and enter class and be called a teacher, it involves more than that. Some so called teacher do the work because there is no job in the country, some do it for money, but only a few has passion for it, only few know that it is the foundation of that child that they are building, and if the foundation is faulty, the whole building will be faulty.
I have been a teacher since my graduation from secondary school in 2013. At first I did not know that I could do what it entails, because before that time, I only dealt with teaching one or two persons at a time but when I was employed, I was faced with d challenge of teaching about 40 pupils, but what helped me most was the fact that they were in primary school. At least I could look them in the eye and teach them. Though now I can teach both junior and senior secondary school students including Jambites and undergraduate because over the years, I have grown the charisma and courage to face them, knowing that I am the person that has something to offer and not vice versa. I love teaching children, and over the years in my place of work, I have received award of the best teacher of the year thrice. With that I say that I am an experienced and competent teacher but not qualified, this means that I can do the work but I am not certified by the ministry of education to do the work. I believe that is a talent.
I intend to develop my teaching skills by first going to the higher institution to get certified so as to be called a qualified, competent, experienced and certified teacher by the teachers’ registration council of Nigeria (TRCN). Secondly I intend to further my education to post graduate level. I intend to become a lecturer in the nearest future and progress to becoming a professor. Thirdly I intend to own a school. The school will comprise primary and secondary sections. Not only do I want to create wealth for myself but I also intend to create more employment opportunities to reduce the rate of unemployment and move our economy closer to achieving the status of development. Furthermore, I intend to develop my teaching skills to the extent of making more teachers. Bringing to light those that have the talent hidden in them. In the process of doing this, I will attain the greatest height in education which is professorship.

    ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC GADGET REPAIR
This skill has been active right from childhood. I do not know if I should call it a talent. This is something I did not go anywhere to learn. It just happened that I tend to dismantle anything I lay my hands on, just to see how the wires are connected. From there I wanted to study electrical/electronic engineering in school, but I was misled when I was about entering SSS1.
I intend to develop this skill by first going to obtain a degree in a higher institution. I believe when I get to school, I will be able to learn the ways to do it better and eventually after that, I will show my skills to the world and I believe after this, I will not seek for jobs but jobs will seek for me. I do not intend to specialize in gadget repair. What I really want is to be able to produce those gadgets myself. Gadget repair is just a starting point to what I want to achieve and when I start producing, due to the effectiveness and efficiency of my gadgets, people will be forced to patronize me and by that way I will earn money.

    MARCH, 2019.

The talent and skill that I have acquired is teaching and cooking. It all started while I was growing up as a teenager, my mum is a business woman, so she's always busy and being the only female child of my parent, I had to Cook even the food I wasn't taught how to prepare. With this, I had to develop passion to cook varieties of food, using different methods and my parent loved it and always correct me when necessary. So that led to my passion of being a caterer and event planner but when I told my mum about it, she rejected the idea immediately. I decided that if I gain admission into the higher institution, I will register with a caterer and event planner but when I came into Nsukka, I ask if I can get a good caterer and event planner around the school premises but couldn't find any like those ones in Abuja.
So, I had to use another means to develop my cooking skill, I go on YouTube and watch different chefs cook and try it on my own. With this I have improved greatly on my cooking skill. In other to make Money, I intended to cook for families, like home service, here in Nsukka but after much consultations, I discovered that I can't achieve much of it here compared to Abuja where you can have so many clients.
So, I have intended to continue learning more and more methods of cooking varieties of food especially local dishes like bitterleaf soup, oha soup, egusi, Ogbonor and the rest of them. Then when I graduate from this institution, I will have to enrol for a six months or one year course with a caterer and event planner in Abuja.
On the other hand, teaching is also a passion that I have developed during the years, I started teaching in Nursery and Primary School immediately after my secondary school. Then, I enrolled into Federal College of Education, Abuja. And after the program, I started teaching Junior and senior classes in secondary schools. I taught Mathematics, Economics, Business studies and Commerce. And then I enrolled into UNN to acquire myB.Ed.
With the skill of cooking and event planning plus being a teacher. I can be a teacher and still carry out the catering job, this will bring income from both sides, not only will it bring income, my family members will also benefit from it because they will be able to consume good meal at all times.

MY TALENT/SKILL AND HOW I HOPE TO USE IT TO CREATE WEALTH AND DEVELOP THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS (SHORT TERM) AS WELL AS WITHIN THE NEXT TEN YEARS (LONG TERM).
A Talent or Skill is said to be an innate ability to carry out or perform a particular task with minimal difficulty. For me, I have always been fond of computers, back then, I always had this curiosity for computers and what they were capable of doing that as time progressed, I learnt how to use some of the applications on my own and without much difficulty.
Now, in the university, I could use it to do certain things that most of my colleagues couldn’t, and I always did certain tasks for them which had to involve the use of computers such as creating websites, presentations, setting up blogs, etc. in which I was paid.
Now, speaking about my short term plans for creating wealth, I would say for the next five years, that I would want to go further in developing myself, getting to learn more things, that I don’t already know, delving into the world of programming such as python, java, C++ and so on, then after that rendering my Talent/Skill set to those who are in need of them for a considerable amount of payment thereby adding my own quota, to the development of the Nigerian economy.
Now, speaking about my long term plans for creating wealth, I would say for the next ten years, that I see myself starting up my own company (A computing firm to be precise) were our goal would be to provide various organizations with the necessary tools needed for them to stand out and compete favorably in the media such as creating and designing their websites, promoting their organizations on social media, advertizing of their products, providing data from the e-public for financial analysis and so forth. Hence, creating wealth and adding my very own quota to the development of the Nigerian Economy as we know it.
In Conclusion, using my talent/skill to create wealth and develop the Nigerian Economy in the short term (five years) as well as in the long term (ten years).
