
2026 University of Edinburgh Mastercard Foundation Scholarship in UK | Fully Funded
The University of Edinburgh MasterCard Scholarship is a fully funded postgraduate program for exceptional young Africans with strong academic and leadership backgrounds who have overcome obstacles to access education. This one-year on-campus scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, travel expenses, living stipend, and study materials, including a laptop.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must have a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelor’s degree or higher, or its equivalent.
- Residency: Applicants must be residents and citizens or hold refugee status in a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Barriers to Education: Applicants should have faced significant barriers to education and demonstrate a track record of leadership and service within their community.
- Climate Crisis: Applicants must show experience or ambition in addressing the climate crisis.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 or under as of September 1, 2025.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Full Tuition Fees: The scholarship covers full approved tuition fees.
- Accommodation and Living Expenses: It includes accommodation, travel expenses, and a living cost stipend.
- Climate Leadership Program: Scholars will participate in a climate leadership program to inspire and support change in their communities.
- Additional Support: Additional support is offered to scholars with disabilities based on individual needs assessments.
Application Process:
- Registration: Register online and complete the eligibility screening by November 14, 2025.
- Application Submission: Submit the application form and required documents by November 21, 2025.
- Assessment: University committees will assess applications from November 2025 to January 2026.
- Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in early 2026.
