The University of Otago International Master’s Research Scholarship is a partially funded opportunity for international students to pursue a thesis-based Master’s degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Here’s what you need to know:
Eligibility Criteria:
- International students
- Obtaining their first Master’s qualification
- Undertaking a thesis-based Master’s program
Benefits:
- Annual stipend of NZ$18,204
- Tuition fee waiver up to NZ$35,000 for 1 year
- Support for thesis component of a Master’s Research degree
Application Details:
- Application deadline: November 1, 2025
- Applications are reviewed quarterly on March 1, June 1, September 1, and November 1
- Apply online through the University of Otago’s application portal
Important Notes:
- The scholarship only provides support for the thesis component of a Master’s Research degree for up to 1 year full-time enrollment
- The scholarship may only partially cover the cost of tuition fees, and you’ll be responsible for any remaining fees above the NZ$35,000 waiver
